Dehydrating Blueberries
Another reason why I’ve fallen for our Cosori dehydrator – dehydrating blueberries!
I start by soaking the blueberries in ¼ cup of baking soda & about 8 cups of water, also added a ¼ cup of vinegar for an extra cleaning boost. After soaking the berries, I strain and rinse several times until the water is clear & the berries are clean.
Roll the berries on some paper towels to remove excess water, then transfer to the dehydrator trays. I tried adding some directly to the trays, and others to tray liners - both ways worked for me!

Set your dehydrator to 165 degrees for 14 hours (adjust as needed.) I typically set mine in the evening, and they’ll be ready the next morning. This makes the time go by quicker, so don’t let the hours hold you back from dehydrating food. Remember, dehydrating food is more about food storage than cooking recipes for immediate results. This is a Tortoise & the Hare kind of situation…
Once dried, store in an airtight container – if they even make it to that point…. They are typically fully consumed before I get a chance to store them here in our household! Ha!
So far, I love enjoying the blueberries straight as a snack but I can very much seeing these in Greek Yogurt topped with granola, maybe added to smoothies, to a fresh salad, maybe blueberry muffins – pancakes even? You can even pulse these to a powder in your blender for a blueberry powder & add THAT to your morning smoothies! Oh, the possibilities are truly endless.
